The Balcones Canyonlands Preserve (BCP) is one of the nation’s largest urban preserves, protecting more than 32,000 acres of endangered species habitat. It is a system of preserves managed by several public and private partners, including Travis County and the LCRA, which manage the preserves located in Comanche Trail.

The sections of the preserve in our neighborhood are off limits to the public and are either fenced in or posted with No Tresspassing signs, as they are home to an endangered songbird, the Golden-Cheeked Warbler.
