Lake Travis Cleanup

You can participate before the End Of Summer Party!

September 17th
9:00 - 11:am

Colorado River Alliance / Travis County parks have 17 collection sites and scuba diving shops around the lake that need volunteers for shoreline and underwater trash collection.  We are proud to have the Village of Volente / Cypress Cove as a sponsor and cleanup site! The only city on the lake to show their support for the beautiful lake we enjoy!

In 2022, more than 300 divers joined business professionals from Dell, Girl Scout and Boy Scout groups, and volunteers of all ages including toddlers and teenagers in the 28th Annual Lake Travis Cleanup, Sunday on September 11, 2022.

  • 504 volunteers donated about 1,500 hours of service to clean up trash from our parks, lakes and waterways.

  • We removed and recycled 193 bags of trash from the waters and shoreline of Lake Travis as well as from Travis County parks around the Lake.

The Village of Volente had about 30 volunteers that searched and cleaned our shoreline for trash. Believe it or not we collected two and a half trailer loads of trash and a sunken boat along the Village shoreline.

We know that the trash isn't ours, but it becomes ours when it's blown to our shoreline or the currents leave it with us. The lake is at its 6th lowest level in history.  This means that the shoreline contains trash that has been sunk since the last drought of 2013. It's a great time to get out and collect all the trash.

We will meet at 9:00 and hope to be done by 11:00 with a social event after at Beachside Billy's.

Awards will be given for the weirdest trash and dirtiest kid!
